The British Safety Council has awarded the prestigious Sword of Honor and Globe of Honor awards for exemplary management of health, safety and environmental risks for businesses. The winning organizations in 2020 came from a wide range of industry sectors in the UK, Europe, India and the Middle East including construction, power generation, manufacturing, hospitality, property management facilities, housing, retail and transportation.
The 66 winners of the Sword of Honor and the eight winners of the Globe of Honor were able to demonstrate to an independent jury proven experience of excellence in the management of risks to the health and safety of workers and / or to the environment related to the activities of organizations.
Mike Robinson, Managing Director of the British Safety Council, said: “The Sword of Honor and Globe of Honor awards are the most distinguished honors in our industry. They recognize and reward organizations around the world that have reached the pinnacle of health and safety, or environmental management, or both, in the case of a very small number of companies.
“I would like to commend the winning organizations and their staff for their unwavering dedication to keeping their workplaces safe and healthy and / or minimizing environmental risks associated with the day-to-day operations of their organizations. 2020 presented an additional and significant challenge in the form of COVID-19 and I congratulate all the winners for their hard work and commitment under these difficult circumstances. “

The British Safety Council would like to pay special tribute to the seven organizations that won the Double (i.e. both the Sword of Honor and the Globe of Honor). They were:
