AJ Hospital celebrates World Environment Day
Mangaluru: On the occasion of World Environment Day, AJ Hospital and Research Center and AJ Institute of Hospital Management in association with Savesoil.org, organized an awareness program.
Mr P Sridhar, Deputy Conservator of Forests was the chief guest. He conveyed the importance of the social environment and how education about the environment around us will save us from disaster. He said that everyone should grow plants in their environment and take care of them so that they take care of us.
Next, Mr. Deepak, a savsoil.org A Conscious Planet volunteer spoke about the importance of soil and urged the audience to reach out and educate for a better future. He explained that people are less aware of the problems facing our earth due to the loss of soil quality. He also said that the “Save Soil” campaign aims to change the way we think of soil as life and to understand that it is the greatest element of the ecosystem and the creation of life and not simply of another inert form.
Dr. Prashanth Marla, Medical Director, Consultant Urologist and Transplant Surgeon, AJ Hospital and Research Center was present during the program. He also highlighted the importance of plants in our environment and how forest officials take care of the surrounding greenery. He said that it is thanks to our forest officers that our city is still full of greenery.
After the official function, Save Soil volunteers and dignitaries along with AJ Hospital and Research Center staff continued to plant saplings on hospital premises, committing to a greener land. green, cleaner and healthier filled with nutritious soil.
Mr. Shashidhar Acharya, Director of Human Resources, AJ Hospital and Research Center, welcomed the assembly. AJ Institute of Hospital Management students and staff were on hand for the program.
