Support the United Nations Decade for Ecosystem Restoration, launched this weekend, by raising awareness and empowering the environment.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, USA, June 5, 2021 / – On World Environment Day on June 5 and throughout the year, Scientologists around the world are supporting efforts to preserve the environment. For three decades, Scientologists have championed environmental responsibility in accordance with the words of L. Ron Hubbard. “Man has reached the potential to destroy the planet,” Mr. Hubbard wrote in 1981. “He must be pushed to the capacity and actions to save it.”

Churches of Scientology around the world sponsor programs to help this effort, from adopting parks and beaches to organizing neighborhood cleanups, and supporting activities that advance environmental responsibility:

* Joining Seattle Washington’s Adopt-A-Street program in its infancy 30 years ago, the Church of Scientology Scientology Environmental Working Group is proud to be part of Seattle’s legacy as a “City of Scientology”. ‘Emerald’.

* Churches of Scientology throughout Europe organize regular cleanings of streets and parks.

* Scientologists in seaside towns such as Ventura, Calif., And Miami and Tampa, Florida, organize beach cleanups to take care of their shores.

* Scientology Volunteer Ministers respond to environmental disasters of human and natural origin wherever they occur, including oil spills, fires and floods, many of which are created or made worse by environmental irresponsibility.

* Churches of Scientology organize conferences and open houses on environmental topics. Although suspended due to the pandemic, they will resume as soon as possible.

* The Scientology Network raises awareness of environmental issues with programs on Scientologists at the forefront of conservation like Yvette Taylor, executive director of The Earth Organization, and agricultural engineer Peter Vajda, who has dedicated his life to turning the world around desertification by restoring sterile agricultural land.

* The Scientology Network Documentary Showcase also features documentaries produced by independent filmmakers. Many of these films promote environmental responsibility, from “Modified”, a talk about genetically modified foods, to “Saving Sea Turtles”, about a community rallying to save a species from extinction, and “Slowing Down Fast Fashion, ”which takes a critical look at the enormous human and environmental costs of cheap disposable clothing.

Churches of Scientology are configured not only to ensure the spiritual advancement of their parishioners, but also to serve as a meeting place for cooperative community efforts where like-minded groups can work together to achieve important goals such as those embodied by World Environment Day.

The founder of the Scientology religion is L. Ron Hubbard and Mr. David Miscavige is the ecclesiastical leader of the religion.
