  • Lead and coordinate site assessments and options studies to ensure all consenting and technical risks are understood and incorporated into the development and refinement of the project design.
  • Oversee and manage external consultants to deliver proportionate and robust environmental impact assessments and assessments.
  • Develop, monitor and establish mutually beneficial relationships with external stakeholders (consenting bodies, statutory authorities, key consultees and government departments).
  • Working under the guidance of a Senior Consent and Environmental Manager, there will be a high level of autonomy for your projects with the benefit of experienced support and guidance where required.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would like you to have

  • Detailed knowledge of the Scottish planning process, consent regimes and Environmental Impact Assessment legislation.

  • A willingness to contribute, adapt and learn within a busy and fast-paced team facing challenges and opportunities under a heavy workload. Innovation and new ideas are welcome where they can add value and improve the consent approach and will be rewarded with good opportunities for long-term career progression in this key area.
  • Ideally you will have a planning or environment related degree, preferably with a postgraduate qualification coupled with relevant industry experience (eg infrastructure, environmental/planning consultancy dealing with large consenting projects). Membership in an appropriate professional planning or environmental body is also desirable.

We are looking for candidates at Senior/Associate level, although ambitious and highly motivated candidates will also be considered where appropriate.
