Pakistan ready to host World Environment Day today – Pakistan

Prime Minister Imran will chair the World Environment Day ceremony at the Islamabad Convention Center.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan is set to host World Environment Day 2021 in partnership with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) today (Saturday). It will be the first time in history that the country will officially host the day, Dunya News reported.

On this occasion, Pakistan will make important announcements regarding the initiatives it has taken to mitigate the effects of climate change, including the 10 billion trees Tsunami program, Clean Green Pakistan, electric vehicle policy, national parks and green jobs. Only four world figures, including Prime Minister Imran Khan, have been selected to participate in the World Environment Conference this year.

The main ceremony for World Environment Day will be held at the Islamabad Congress Center, which will be chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Messages from world leaders, including the United Nations Secretary-General, will be broadcast during the conference. Political and government figures, ministers, foreign ambassadors and senior officials will participate in the conference.
