Target: High-emission suppliers halve their emissions by 2030. Learn more about Ericsson’s target and approach to supplier climate here.
Ericsson has set a climate target for 350 strategic and high-emitting suppliers to set their own climate targets aligned with 1.5 ° C. In simpler terms, this means that suppliers should halve their absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and make their commitment public.
Ericsson’s Supplier Climate Goal is supported by our Code of Conduct for Business Partners, our sourcing process and contributes to Ericsson’s overall approach to climate action.
Water management is of great importance wherever Ericsson does business. Most of the water used in production and the business environment is fresh water and should be managed responsibly. Ways to reduce water use, or water reuse systems, as well as effective wastewater cleaning are expected from the supply chain.
By reducing the amount of materials used, and then using and reusing resources efficiently, we have an impact on the amount of waste going to landfill. It’s a way of thinking that starts already in the design phase of development and operations. All suppliers are encouraged to plan and develop waste management programs. More information on Ericsson’s commitment to waste reduction can be found on the Supply Waste page.
Ericsson’s Code of Conduct for Business Partners places a strong emphasis on the importance of having good environmental practices in place. Ericsson also has the companion document Business Partner Environmental Requirements, which clarifies how companies are expected to conduct their environmental business.
The area is managed in close collaboration with the Ericsson Sustainability & Corporate Sustainability team and is monitored by the Ericsson management team. We also collaborate with other external parties such as NGOs, suppliers, peers in order to develop the area.
